Artist’s Statement:

My feeling is that art should celebrate the memories, fantasies, dreams and feelings we wish to keep alive in our mind. When I paint, my technique is to consciously focus on an idea, paying close attention to only the color and texture of the paint. I try to allow shapes and figures to emerge on their own, through indirect intention. I believe this allows my paintings to organically take on their own authentic personality.

Being affected by both red/green and blue/yellow color blindness, I mix my own colors for all paints to best match what I see in my mind to hopefully create a unique visual experience for others. Most of my paint is applied directly to the canvas with a knife, but I also throw or pour paint directly from cups and bottles.
